Enea Bastianini will be eager to become one of the top three riders in the standings by winning the much-anticipated German MotoGP.
Most recent race
The Ducati Lenovo Team rider managed to secure a podium spot at the most recent race on the 2024 calendar which was the Dutch TT on 30 June.
The man nicknamed "La Bestia" (The Beast) started on the 10th grid and he went on to finish third which saw him 16 important points from the Motul TT Assen event.
MotoGP title ambitions
The Beast remains fourth in the 2024 MotoGP Riders' standings having accumulated 136 points from eight races.
However, Bastianini is now six points behind third-placed Marc Marquez of Ducati and 64 points behind the leader and Ducati rider Jorge Martin.
Why Bastianini could win the 2024 German MotoGP
Bastianini is becoming consistent having secured back-to-back podium spots at the Italian MotoGP and Dutch TT.
The 2020 Moto2 World Championship winner will be determined to record his maiden win of the season by winning this weekend's German MotoGP.
What did he say?
“It was incredible, even though the race itself was a bit of a strange one. I tried to push hard from the beginning, but I was struggling a bit with the rear end, especially on the exit of the right-hand corners," Bastianini said after the 2024 Dutch TT.
"The feeling improved lap after lap and, when the others slowed down a little, I managed to keep my pace and also push a bit more. I managed to bridge the gap to the riders fighting for the podium: I gave it a go and have fun with some overtakes and ended up third.
"Obviously, I knew Pecco (Bagnaia) was out of reach and (Jorge) Martín also did a good job in trying to stay with him, so it’s good this way. I’m very happy and I’d like to thank the team for the work done because two days ago we were not in the position to do well, while now we’re on the podium.”
